Typing Speed Test
Type as fast and accurately as possible. Choose your time and mode below.
Phrases vs Words mode
Phrases mode gives you real sentences to type — great for practicing natural language flow and punctuation. Words mode gives you a stream of random common words with no context, which trains pure motor memory. Most professional typists train with both.
What is a good typing speed?
The average is around 40 WPM. Professional typists reach 65–75 WPM. Above 80 WPM is advanced, and above 100 WPM is exceptional. Most office jobs expect 40–60 WPM.
How to improve
Focus on accuracy before speed. Use all fingers, keep eyes on the screen, and practice 15–20 minutes daily. Consistent practice shows measurable improvement within weeks.
